How do you think it could be useful to you in your situation? I just started a faculty fun book club so I'm going to suggest using LibraryThing as a discussion vehicle between meetings. Also, my student book clubs could utilize this cool web tool, too.
Did you check out any of the groups? Yes, some of the ones I was interested in were set to private. The others had old post and seem dormant. I didn't check all of them but the ones that were active had some lively conversations going on.
Did you find a group of users that share your interests? The users that had some of the same books as my 8 only had the same two books in common. These two books are current adult best sellers so not really indicative of my particular tastes.
Of everything I've done so far this is something I have an immediate use for--thank you!

We had the teachers use library thing at both high schools this year to share their fav books. We didn't get as many to participate as we would have liked, but it is fun and worth the effort. I have my own list too- you can see it on many of my webpages- I think it's a great tool for a librarian. You are cruising along SO FAST!
